'Learn to Draw' drawing and illustration classes (8-12 years)
Mondays, 4.45 - 5.45pm, Untitled Gallery + Studio, Coconut Grove, Darwin
Term 3 dates: 14 July - 15 September. Please note: classes won’t run on the Picnic Day public holiday, Monday 4 August.
Explore traditional illustration and drawing techniques, and experiment with a range of paper-based mediums including graphite, pen and ink, watercolour, charcoal, pastels, coloured pencils, and markers.
These classes balance technical skills, including understanding tone, colour, shape, and shading, with creative thinking, imaginative drawing, and problem solving. Recommended for students aged 8-12.
Term 3 projects will include:
Crocodile - pen and watercolour
Drawing Top End animals
Introduction to printmaking techniques
Design and print your own tote bag!
Character design and drawing different expressions
Coloured pencil blending
Drawing with graphite, pen, watercolour, and markers
Term 3 enrolment (9 weeks): $252, all materials provided
2-week trial pass: $60, all materials provided
Important info:
Classes are drop-off / pick-up style - parents and guardians are welcome to pop into the studio at pick-up to see student work
Doors open 5 minutes before class starts
All materials provided - enjoy experimenting with a range of artist quality materials!
Classes include a range of 1-week and multi-week projects. Finished work is sent home throughout the term, sketchbooks can be taken home at the end of term
Small class sizes (max 10-12 students) allow for plenty of 1:1 support, while fostering relationships with other young creative people
Students are encouraged to bring a drink bottle and to wear clothes that are suitable for art making (in case of paint splashes!)
