Term 2 "Creative Kids" art classes (7-12 years)
Mondays, 3.30 - 4.30pm, Untitled Gallery + Studio, Coconut Grove, Darwin
Creative Kids classes explore a mix of drawing, painting and sculpture projects, exposing children to a range of mediums, skills, and technique. Unlock your creativity and get ready to experiment with a range of art materials!
Term 2 dates: 14 April - 16 June. Mid-term break Monday 12 May. Classes will run May Day public holiday (May 5) but not King’s Birthday (9 June).
Term 2 classes will explore drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture techniques. Our projects will include:
Acrylic bird painting on canvas (Rainbow bee eater)
Cardboard city sculpture - creating with found objects and ‘waste’ material
Drawing our cardboard city - understanding perspectives, and use of foreground, mid ground, and background (sketching in pencil, pen, and watercolour)
Introduction to printmaking techniques
Not sure if this class is right for you? Book in for a 2 class trial to get a feel for our creative classes without committing to the whole term.
Important info:
Classes are drop-off / pick-up style - parents and guardians are welcome to pop into the studio at pick-up to see student work
Doors open 5 minutes before class starts
All materials provided - enjoy experimenting with a range of artist quality materials!
Classes include a range of 1-week and multi-week projects. Finished work is sent home throughout the term, sketchbooks can be taken home at the end of term
Small class sizes (max 10-12 students) allow for plenty of 1:1 support, while fostering relationships with other young creative people
Students are encouraged to bring a drink bottle and to wear clothes that are suitable for art making (in case of paint splashes!)
