'Learn to Draw' drawing and illustration classes (8-12 years)

Term 1 dates are: February 2, 16, 23, March 2, 9, 16, 30

Explore traditional illustration and contemporary drawing techniques, and experiment with a range of paper-based mediums. These classes balance technical skills, like understanding tone, colour, shape, and shading, with creative thinking, imaginative drawing, and problem solving. Recommended for students aged 8-12.

Term 1 projects include:

  • Drawing quirky creatures

  • Pet and animal portraits

  • Using negative space, patterns, and line work

  • Drawing landscapes, spaces, and places

  • Techniques in watercolour, pen, graphite, marker, coloured pencil, and pastels

Term 1 enrolment (7 weeks):– $196, all materials provided

Important info:

  • Classes are held at Untitled Gallery + Studio, 3/1 Caryota Ct, Coconut Grove

  • Classes are drop-off / pick-up style - parents and guardians are welcome to pop into the studio at pick-up to see student work

  • All materials provided - enjoy experimenting with a range of artist quality materials!

  • Classes include a range of 1-week and multi-week projects. Finished work is sent home throughout the term, sketchbooks can be taken home at the end of term

  • Small class sizes (max 10-12 students) allow for plenty of 1:1 support

  • Beginner friendly – grow your skills and make friends with other students

  • Students are encouraged to bring a drink bottle and to wear clothes that are suitable for art making (sometimes art gets messy!)
